CROSSWAYS BIBLE SURVEY COURSE TO BE OFFERED OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS!
Crossways is a 60-unit, two-year course that
studies the biblical narrative from beginning to end. It makes us of 160
full-page, full-color illustrations that empower students to see as well as
hear the message. How will the Crossways study help First Lutheran? It will: Increase
our ability to understand the Word we hear and read. Teach
us who we are, and Whose we are. Encourage
us to follow the Servant-King, Jesus the Messiah, in all we think, say, and do. Clarify
our thinking about the mission of the Church. Give
us a vision for personal ministry and purpose in our daily life. Enhance
our worship. Help
us understand biblical stewardship as a way of life. We will offer Crossways, taught by Pastor
Lloyd, on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. or Tuesday evenings from 7:00
– 9:00 p.m. We will begin on Tuesday, September 14. Please note that Tuesday
evening will not meet the first Tuesday of each month to allow for members to
attend Social Club! |

SERMON AND ADULT BIBLE STUDY SERIES ON “FEARLESS”
– based on book by Max Lucado A special 6 week sermon series based on Scripture and ideas from Max Lucado’s book –“Fearless – will be featured at First Lutheran from August 7/8 – September 11/12. In addition, after each worship service we will offer an adult bible study on the topic of the day for adults to more extensively dive into Scripture on the topic! Invitation cards are available for you to send to friends, relatives and neighbors inviting them to these special worships and classes. This experience will empower all of us to help examine our common fears and give clear testimony from the Bible as to how to face them and deal with them in a Godly manner! We hope you will take the time as a member to invite others to attend this special series of sermons and bible studies! Who do you know that needs to hear the Word of God applied to their fears? Who do you know that can use some courage right now to face their fears and in the Name of Jesus to overcome and conquer them? If you know someone who needs these messages – then now is the time to invite them to join with you to worship and learn and receive from God His riches and teachings on the subject of fear! Here is the schedule: August 7/8 – Matthew 8: 23-27 – “Why Are We Afraid?” August 14/15 – Matthew 10: 26-33 – “The Fear of Not Mattering!” August 21/22 – Mark 2: 1-12 – “The Fear of Disappointing God!” August 28/29 – John 14: 1-7 – “The Fear of Life’s Final Moments!” September 4/5 – Matthew 24: 6-14 – “The Fear of Global Calamity!” September 11/12 – Matthew 17: 1-8 – “The Fear of God Getting Out of My Box!” Worship Celebrations are held on Saturday evenings at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.. Adult bible class is at 10:15 a.m. in the Chapel area. |
