The
Christian Education Committee shall be responsible for providing
opportunities
for
Christian education for
the entire membership of the congregation –
children, young people and adults.
Specifically,
the Christian
Education Committee shall:
1. Operate
the Sunday School, arranging for
qualified teachers and teaching materials.
Serve as the focal point for
visual aids and other teaching materials.
2. Appoint
the Sunday School
Superintendent and Assistant
Superintendent,
subject to approval by the Church
Council.
3. Arrange
for classes for all age groups.
4.
Organize and conduct the
Vacation Bible
School.
5. Train
teachers.
6. Assist
with junior, senior and adult
Confirmation classes.
7. Arrange
for seminars on various
subjects of
interest to members of the congregation.
8. Maintain
the Library.
9.
Report activities to the
Church Council and Voters’ Assembly.
One
of the exciting recent
developments here at First Lutheran
is the Plattsmouth
chapter of
MOPS -
Mothers Of Preschoolers
MOPS
is an organization
dedicated to
"making moms
better moms through trusted
resources and relationships".
This group
meets on the first Monday of each month at 9:30
a.m. at the church.
